Finding Money To Start A Business

Money for Business

You have a dream. You have a goal. There are so many things you want to do. But, you don’t have the money.

Boy-oh-boy do I know this feeling, and I know it a little too well. It’s frustrating, a time-suck, and disheartening. I have been in that spot where I wanted to start a business, but didn’t have the means to do so. I thought, “If only I had $1000, or if someone would just give me the money. Some people are so lucky to just have money to randomly start a business.”

Silly me. Most people do not just have the money lying around, they find a way to make it! Isn’t that the point of starting a business, to make money? Doesn’t that seem like a catch-22? Make money to start a business to make money. But how do I get to the making money part?

Do you see the purse sitting in your closet? Maybe that TV you spend too much time watching when you could be building your dream? Or, what about all of those designer clothes in your closet? Come on, I know you’ve purchased workout DVD’s that are just sitting there.

Catching my drift yet? To be a good entrepreneur you must be creative about making money and I was reminded of this just yesterday by my favorite personal mentor.

At first this made me irritated because I had already sold all of my stuff that was worth anything. I felt like I didn’t have anything else to sell (my husband won’t let me sell the TV or washer and dryer.. I tried). Then it hit me. I have close to $1000 worth of workout DVDs.

I know.. how can one person have so many? Well, I was a direct seller of them at one point and love fitness. But, after years of the same workouts I have not wanted to look at them. So… see ya later!

I pulled them all off my shelf, made a FB post on my personal page, and within 2.5 hours I made $250.

BOOM… there is my ad budget!
